Practice companion rescue at these ATC locations

Rescue by companions is a top priority

It is absolutely important to avoid triggering an avalanche by considerate behavior. If it still happens, rescue is a matter of minutes.

The ATC Avalanche Training Center is a stationary system for practicing avalanche rescue by means of transceivers and avalanche probes. It allows for practicing the use of the emergency equipment under nearly realistic conditions.

The ATC Avalanche Training Centers very popular and easy to use. You can find them at over sixty sites throughout the Alps, in the Black Forest, in the Abruzzi and in Australia.

They are operational throughout the winter season, and are accessible to the public for free.

The system was first developed by Girsberger Mountain Rescue Technology in 2002.
In 2015, the system was completely redesigned and updated to the most recent technology.

The entire system is produced in small series by the Girsberger family operation in Switzerland.
